Many of you have been invited by our team to support our blog by liking our page and by following our other accounts... But have you ever stopped and thought: "What really is The Resistance? Who are the people included in The Resistance? What do they do? How do they work?". We've been telling people to support us without proper introductions, so now would be a good time just for that.

The Resistance is the name of Pasig City Science High School's esteemed group of students which will compete in the upcoming Tagisang Robotics 2013. The Resistance is also PCSHS's one and only Robotics section under the wing of Ms. Hazel Castro, our Robotics teacher.

As a robot is composed of parts and components in order to work, The Resistance is also composed of different groups which help our team fully prepare for the upcoming competition.

The Utility is The Resistance's own locomotion system. The locomotion system helps a robot move, either forward or backward, left or right, so on and so forth. In our case, the Utility helps our team move forward. They are in charge of raising funds for our expenses and for providing our Engineers with the parts and tools that they need. They are also the team's assistance department. Without them,we would not move forward. A member of this group should be diligent and obedient.

The Finance is The Resistance's own signal processing system. A robot's signal processing system helps the robot interpret and analyze the signals it receives. The Finance group analyzes, organizes, and records all transactions the team makes, and handles all the money the team receives. They are basically in charge of all money matters; transactions, expenses, financial needs, profit, and others. The members of this group must be well organized and trustworthy.

The Networking group is The Resistance's own sensor system. A robot needs a sensor system in order to interact with the physical world. Our Networking group (or should I say, duo) is responsible for all public relations. They are in charge of our social networking accounts and help in letting more people know about us. They also help out in maintaining our own website. They are also assigned the important task of letting our Team Pictures get Likes. The members of this group must be always socially active and can handle good public relations.

The Scribes group is The Resistance's very own internal memory. As the internal memory of a robot keeps entries of the robot's actions, the Scribes are assigned the task of recording all things that happen within the team, and keeps entries of them in a journal. These entries are posted on our website. It helps keep our supporters up-to-date with what is happening with our team and helps them witness our progress. They are also the picture-takers of the team. Scribes must be good in writing skills and must be fluent in English. The person who wrote what you are reading right now is part of this group. ;)

Finally we have the Engineers. The Engineers are The Resistance's very own all-important control system. Of course, every robot needs a major governing system. The Engineers govern the team by handling the most important task of all - creating the robot itself. The Engineers build the robot, program the robot, and do basically everything which concerns the robot. They are assigned the most difficult and mind boggling task of letting the robot work as desired. Every Engineer is assigned because of his/her own exceptional knowledge in the field of Robotics. The members of this group must be hardworking and knowledgeable in the field of Robotics.

Every group is special and important in their own way. As said earlier, a robot needs its parts and components in order to work, and even if only one part is missing, the robot will definitely not work properly. We value each other's work for it takes us closer to our number one goal - winning the Tagisang Robotics Competition.

So there you have it. The Resistance. Hopefully you'll get to know us more as we go through this journey towards the Tagisang Robotics on November! We, the Scribes, will help you keep updated on The Resistance's whereabouts. Until then, please do continue supporting our team! And for you, reader, who has been supporting us since day one, thank you so much!
